While the Venice Film Festival may be known for its over-the-top glitz and glamour, over in Telluride, Colorado, things are a little bit more, shall we say, down-to-earth.

Running concurrently with Venice, the 2026 Telluride Film Festival offers a vastly different sartorial approach to film promotion, with the stars swapping their custom gowns and heels for jeans and boots. Indeed, fall is well underway in the Rocky Mountains, and this year’s crop of attendees reminds us that there’s much to look forward to when the weather cools down everywhere else.

Layering was top of mind for the celebrity set. Dressed in a jacket, cardigan, and button-up, Emma Stone made the argument that there’s no such thing as too many buttons.

Jordan Firstman livened up a white sweater and leather jacket with a whisper of color, the collar of a pale pink crewneck peeking out from his knit. Cara Delevingne and Sofia Coppola , meanwhile, both layered T-shirts with button-ups; the model added a Westernwear touch with her open long-sleeve, while the director kept things classic in a striped shirt over a white tee.

Although there were plenty of autumnal neutrals and gorpcore essentials to go around, some attendees offered takes on fall formality. Caitriona Balfe and Odessa Young ditched the festival’s requisite slouchy jeans in favor of skirts—Balfe in an elegant black pebbled leather pencil, Young in an eye-catching moiré mini. Jewelry also played an important role in zhuzhing up the low-key looks: filmmaker Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi’s chunky, statement-making pieces helped elevate her mostly black outfit.
