9pm, Sky One The mockumentary about a local newspaper from the writers of The Office US is back – which, crucially, means the return of show-stealing Sabrina Impacciatore as clueless managing editor Esmeralda. New editor Ned (Domhnall Gleeson) may now have an award-winning team, but it has only made them hungry for more wild stories. 8pm, Channel 4 In between co-hosting this show, ex-Love Islander/DIY enthusiast Luke Mabbott has been doing up a 19th-century chapel in Cornwall. This episode follows his ambitious journey, involving a vaulted ceiling and bespoke gothic window – and he’s doing all this while also planning his lavish wedding. HR

9pm, BBC One

Famed for playing awkward eccentrics, Stephen Merchant is the perfect guest star for series two of the quirky crime drama, as a haughty snooker player accused of bumping off his rival. Meanwhile, Lucy (Anna Maxwell Martin) confronts shady MP Joanne (Sian Clifford), and unlikely hero John (David Mitchell) receives a warning. Hannah J Davies

9pm, ITV1 One of this week’s two subjects is Melissa, whose mother told her about another daughter she had to put up for adoption as a baby. What makes Melissa’s search for her older sister even more heartbreaking – and a race against time – is that their mum has been diagnosed with early onset dementia. HR

9pm, Channel 4 The comedians travel to a strange water feature to undertake tasks. But have Chloe Petts and Matt Lucas unintentionally missed a key part of the exercise (the camera operator certainly thinks so)? And what will impress Greg Davies less: Chloe’s one-eyed doll or a pair of moth-eaten pants procured by Isy Suttie? Priya Elan

9pm, Channel 5 This exploration of heroism in the 17th century has modern resonance given the events of 2020-21. In 1665, the Peak District village of Eyam quarantined itself after an outbreak of bubonic plague and, in doing so, prevented a wider spread. Ruth Goodman tells the story via individual tales of courage. Phil Harrison

Call My Agent! The Movie (Emilie Noblet, 2026), Netflix

It is five years since French talent agency ASK closed and the staff have scattered. Andréa (Camille Cottin) is about to direct her first film but is in need of a malleable producer, so she calls on Noémie (Laure Calamy), who now works on reality TV shows.

From there, it’s a short step to getting the band back together – though everything that can go wrong does go wrong. With its starry cameos (Eva Longoria, George Clooney) and industry in-jokes, this spin-off from the TV show is a familiar pleasure.

Dune: Part Two (Denis Villeneuve, 2024), Netflix Part Three won’t land in cinemas until December, but such is the complexity of Frank Herbert’s fantasy saga that it’s best to get up to speed with the first two in the trilogy now. In this spectacular instalment, director Denis Villeneuve concentrates on the changing nature of Timothée Chalamet’s desert-planet messiahPaul Atreides and his relationship with Zendaya’s native warrior Chani.

Prophecies and politics clash as an air of foreboding infiltrates events, while Austin Butler makes a memorable first impression as the smirking heir to Stellan Skarsgård’s evil Baron Harkonnen. SW

Supergirl (Craig Gillespie, 2026), 8.10am, 8pm, Sky Cinema Premiere Following her riotous introduction as Clark Kent’s cousin in last year’s Superman, Milly Alcock’s Kara Zor-El gets her own world(s) to play in. Director Craig Gillespie leans heavily into the scuzzy, Guardians of the Galaxy end of the comic-book spectrum, as the hard-partying Kara has to sober up after galactic pirates poison her dog, Krypto, and she has three days to find them and the antidote.

Chuck in a plucky orphan girl (Eve Ridley) who is bent on killing the lead criminal and you’ve got yourself a 12A John Wick in space. SW
