“Racist” ‘Tetris’ rip-off removed from The White House’s virtual arcade following backlash

Donald Trump ’s The White House has removed a “racist” Tetris rip-off from its virtual arcade after backlash from gaming fans.

Earlier this week, The White House launched a series of politically-charged games that took heavy inspiration from retro classics .

Titles such as the Duck Hunt -inspired Trump Saving Tycoon and Supply Line promoted some of Trump’s policies while others were more inflammatory. Tetris rip-off Build The Wall encourages players to “protect the border from the coming horde” and the Snake -inspired Rio Run wants you to “patrol the line along the river [and] pick up every crosser in the lot”.

After being tagged by several gaming fans, The Tetris Company released a statement that confirmed they had nothing to do with Trump’s virtual arcade. “At Tetris we believe in the power of connection and bringing people together, not dividing them. To our fans everywhere, we love you, we see you, and we’re grateful to have you in our community,” they wrote on Instagram. “We take copyright infringement very seriously,” they added in the caption.

And now Build The Wall has been removed from The White House’s website without explanation. Gaming fans are hoping other companies follow suit, with Trump using Nintendo, PlayStation, Sega and Microsoft imagery to promote the virtual arcade.

Earlier today (September 9) The White House’s official X account shared a The Legend Of Zelda parody starring Trump. “Please Nintendo, the most anti-fan, litigious game company of all time, if you’re going to sue someone, sue these bozos,” wrote one fan.

“This administration is laser focused on ways to innovate and tell the story of the President’s many accomplishments in a way that resonates with every American,” a White House official told The Washington Examiner . “This is an effort to further contrast between a culture of fun and winning and the dark socialist vision Democrats have for America.”
