DCEU Watch Order: All 17 Movies and Shows in Release & Timeline Order
From Man of Steel in 2013 to Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom in 2023, the DCEU era spans 16 films plus Peacemaker season one. James Gunn's Superman (2025) starts the separate DCU—none of that is on this list. Release order is the default and the recommended first watch; switch modes above for in-universe chronology or the Snyder-saga core cut.

Where to start
- Man of Steel The era begins here—Krypton's fall, Kal-El's first flight and the battle of Metropolis.
- Wonder Woman The best-reviewed DCEU film—a self-contained origin that also tops the timeline order.
- Zack Snyder's Justice League If you want the epic: the four-hour cut completes every arc and is the consensus pick over the theatrical version.
Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between the DCEU and the new DCU?
The DCEU is the shared universe running from Man of Steel (2013) to Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (2023). James Gunn's Superman (2025) launched a separate, rebooted DCU with new casting—none of those films are in this list. In-story, The Flash's Flashpoint is what bridges the two eras.
Should I watch Justice League (2017) or the Snyder Cut?
If you watch only one, make it the Snyder Cut: Cyborg and Flash get real arcs, Darkseid appears, and the fan consensus heavily favours it. The 120-minute theatrical cut covers the same event, so there's no need for both—our core-saga mode selects the director's cut.
Do I need to watch Peacemaker?
Season one is DCEU canon and picks up right after The Suicide Squad's credits scene—it's also Gunn's best-reviewed DC work, so it's worth it. Season two officially belongs to the new DCU timeline and falls outside this list.
Which order should a first-timer use?
Release order is easiest: cameos and character returns are paced around it. Timeline order pulls both Wonder Woman films to the front and suits a rewatch. For just the Superman–Justice League trunk, switch to the core-saga mode—eight titles total.
